Although I'm never sure if I am using the word correctly, I feel the following is ironic:
When we were in high school, a lot of us kept blogs detailing our daily lives. It was pretty pointless because we saw each other most everyday and talked about these things anyway. As for the "feelings" posts, we should have talked about them but didn't because we were cowards, aka high school students.
Now that we rarely talk to each other, at least about our lives, we don't keep blogs or journals or whatever. When I was 18 I didn't want to read about every details of my friends' lives because I was usually there for most of it anyway. Now that we're spread out across the country (and globe... JC), I actually want to know what people do with their lives and there is no way to find out.
As for being the change I want to see in the world:
I have a paper due tomorrow I've been putting off for 2 weeks. I have an exam on Friday that will rock my world, then I think I might be betting on the Preakness at Belmont on Saturday (Rachel Alexandra will be a bust). A MatLab project I've put off for literally a month due the 18th, then another exam the 22nd, and then I'm done!
That is, I'm done except for finding a place to live and a car to drive in Rochester. I should probably get around to those things sooner rather than later...

Pathetic
I have accomplished almost nothing of any value for about a week.
Note that this is not an emo post, but rather an observation that is hilarious. Seniorits Part II is striking hard. Very hard.

Bored
No Emma this weekend, plenty of work to do but no motivation.
A gem from the Amazon.com boards:
The topic: "If you could nail any video game character who would it be and why?"
The second post: "Kirby wouldn't walk right for a week."
I loved it.

Go Yankees!
Go Pettitte! Go Burnett! Wang... eh...
In case you're not able to get to a TV (all zero of you who read this), try www.stealthshot.net. Apparently this guy will stream most games on YES and My9, although I'm not so sure about day games. It's nice to be able to watch the games for free but not schlep to the TV lounge that is often filled with people watching soccer.
Week of work almost over, but projects looming!

Why Bother?
It's hard to motivate myself to do work now that I will be employed. As long as I manage a B- or better average, I will be all set to graduate.
Let's go Yankees! We beat up the Rays last year and I think it's time to show them that they're not that good.
And now for a funny quote:
4th-grader to other 4th-grader: "Another reason boys are better than girls is that boys can take their shirts off and not be embarrassed!"

Spring Break Is Over Forever...
Was awesome. Lots of good times, meeting new people (mostly freshmen), and sailing was fun. My poor academic's hands are beaten to hell though, and my scalp got sunburnt and was peeling at the airport (ewww!).
All-in-all, it went way too quickly and now it's back to the grindstone at school. I've all but gotten an offer with Verizon Wireless I'm probably going to take, so at least there is some good news around.
I just wish I were a college freshman again. That was a pretty awesome time. This real life shit really sucks in comparison.

Crap
No new episodes of the following series for a few weeks:
Scrubs
How I Met Your Mother
The Big Bang Theory
Desperate Housewives
The Office
30 Rock
The Simpsons
At least according this: http://www.tvcountdown.com/
Starting Heroes from tonight. So far it in the hole with an 0-2 count this season.
Edit: Strike 3, Heroes. Your predictable and retarded characters are no longer interesting. Goodbye.

Jobs... Maybe
So the best hit on a job so far has been Verizon Wireless. Apparently they have a brand new position they are trying out for recent graduates that was described to me as a "fast-track to management." They want candidates with graduate degrees in EE or CS (check), who can actually interact with other humans (check), and who have experience and knowledge of the cell-phone industry (check). The downside is that I have to relocate every 2 years for about 6 years. The places I'd be are not exactly the most exciting in the world either: Rochester, middle of nowhere Massachusetts, middle of nowhere Virginia, and Delaware were the most likely.
I apparently nailed the phone interview, and the current plan to go up to Rochester, NY this Friday for an in-person interview. How I'm getting up there is another story for another day.
It's nice to have an opportunity, even if it might not be what I'd take. The manager I've been talking to admitted moving every 2 years is murder to your relationships, romantic or otherwise. I'm not quite sure if the cell phone industry is where I'd like to be either, since you have to be ready to throw clothes on and go to work almost every day the year in case disaster strikes.
Of course I'll have to do well in the interview and get an offer before worrying about this stuff.
Other news:
-The Simpsons had it's first HD episode tonight. The episode was OK, but they had a revamped opening that was pretty cool.
-I was sick as fuck this past week. Stomach viruses are awful.
-Valentine's Day was nice. Emma and I didn't do anything spectacular, but it was just nice to hang out together as usual.

You Can't Make This Up
An anonymous friend's story of last night, told in the 3rd person:
She went home with a guy very late and very drunk. She had hooked up with guy before and knew him prior to last night. They got back to bed, and she refused to sleep to him because she was too tired and too drunk, despite his pleas to do pretty kinky things (video tape themselves and go into the shower and shave each other for example). Since this was following a formal, she was still in her dress and fell asleep on his bed it.
When he asked if she was going to vomit, she replied, "No, I'm not going to ruin your sheets."
She then had her period and ruined his sheets. She apologized, went to the bathroom to deal with it, and when she had returned, he had already made the bed with new sheets. They then both passed out again.
Early in the morning, the guy's phone rings 5+ times in a row, and shortly after someone is knocking on his door with gusto. Guy jumps out of bed, writes on a post-it and hands it to girl. It reads: "Can you hide? Please Please Please?". She hid, guy left, and she falls back asleep on his bed.
Eventually girl wakes up and leaves to find another post-it on the outside of guy's door saying "[guy] is not feeling well and is sleeping, please leave him alone." Girl runs into guy's suite-mates while leaving and they ask if the guy is alright and if he's still sleeping (she hasn't seen him since he left earlier). She says he is, and leaves. Later, guy sends girl a text saying he'll explain it later.
It's quite an odd series of events, although hilarious. Sorry for the excessive use of pronouns, but since there is only 1 guy and 1 girl in the story, I hope it's not too hard to follow.

Overheard in Princeton
Jock to 2 other jocks: "Hermione is the only one who graduates. It's in the prologue."
Jock to tiny girl: "Pimps and Hos parties are easy for girls; you just have to wear nothing. Guys have to be creative and find expensive pimp clothes."
Girl to other girl: "He uses way too much math in that class. We're not *those* kind of economisters"
Dude to other dude: "I want to party a lot now and still get into a top med school. I also want to party in med school a lot, but like still be at the top of my class."
